A BRIEF STORY OF MUSICAL LOVE
Lovers of diverse forms of music. Lovers of each other. Mutual muses. Finally, united as one menagerie of electronica and live instrumentation, LXXVERS. Aarom & Saschy Wilson’s newly formed DJ-meets-live-meets-spontaneous jam hybrid act also thrives on surprise. Anything from mystery guest performers to fashion, visuals and art aim to enhance and elevate aural experiences, creating something unique and unexpected. No haters allowed, only lovers of the unknown and uninhibited.
Aarom Wilson has around 15 years of DJing – everything from current residencies at Long Chim, Goody Twos and SBB; to boutique events including Perth Festival, Art Gallery of WA and Taste Of Perth; touring to the UK and China; big stage dalliances at festivals such as Southbound, Stereosonic, A Day On The Green and Future Music Festival; and supporting the likes of Bonobo, Chet Faker, Hercules & Love Affair, The Presets, Mr Scruff, LCD Soundsystem and Sampology. An RTRFM presenter of numerous shows for more than a decade, a music journalist including as the Editor of Drum Media and writer for The West Australian, and MarComms orchestrator at WAM, music is his obsession.
Saschy Wilson is his lifelong partner, and is multi-talented force to be reckoned with. Doctor of humanitarian medicine in the most remote of international locales, a taste-making music pusher on RTRFM’s iconic Drastic On Plastic program, and a classically trained flautist. Arresting ears with her ability to play a range of instruments – including drums, flute, glockenspiel, melodion and more – expect her to twist Aarom’s DJing and live FX and sampling into a live, visceral, vivacious and surreal sensory experience to be savoured – both by the ears and the dancefloor.
