Emlyn Johnson’s 2017 album Contested Mark was a local feature on RTRFM and hugely popular with the local music community. Johnson’s song Waste was released by Bedroom Suck and Courtney Barnett’s Milk Records’ Split Singles series. Emlyn Johnson performed two songs about C. Y. O’Connor at the Nick Allbrook curated Songs of Disgrace at the Fremantle Town Hall for the Fremantle Festival 2017. Recently Emlyn Johnson’s music has been compared to Nick Cave.
